We are in a new era where massive corporations are actually buying up single-family residential homes. What are your thoughts on that?

Companies like BlackRock are out in the open market and buying thousands of homes. They have a massive portfolio of single-family homes. This investment strategy uses a REIT: Real Estate Investment Trust.

It is estimated that there are over $1 trillion worth of homes in our nationwide real estate market that are owned by corporations.

Legitimate Concerns About Corporations Owning Single-Family Homes

There are legitimate concerns stemming from this situation. For example, many people are concerned about how it will affect affordability, as you are competing with huge corporations. Also, these big companies have control over certain segments of the population. For example, they can control rent, etc.
